Looking for the best place to get your Birkenstocks repaired in New Zealand? You have probably found a mix of mall kiosks, generic cobblers, and a few specialists. Here is what to look for, and why Shane's Shoe Repairs is the right call for most original Birkenstock owners.

What it costs
Pricing depends on what your Birkenstocks need.
- Resole only: $119
- Resole with cork repair: $165
- Resole with cork and liner replaced: $235
- Standalone cork repair, no resole: $75
Standalone cork repair is the right choice for isolated damage, like a chewed corner or a small chip. This works when the sole is still in good shape. Most of the time, though, cork damage and sole wear happen together. If your sole is worn too, a resole with cork repair included is the better fit.
Why choose a specialist over a generic cobbler

Birkenstocks are built differently to most footwear. The cork and latex footbed moulds to your foot over time. That is part of why people get attached to a worn-in pair. A generic repair shop that does not work with Birkenstocks regularly can get this wrong. They might damage the footbed shape or use the wrong materials on the sole.
Shane's Shoe Repairs uses genuine Birkenstock soles and cork on every repair. The goal is always to keep the footbed shape you have already broken in. If the cork is fully munted, it gets replaced instead. Either way, the sole and cork get a proper fix underneath it.
Guarantee
Every repair comes with a guarantee. If you are not happy with the result, Shane will redo the work and cover the courier both ways.
