Where can I go in Tauranga CBD for a spare key?
Are you in the city and needing a spare house key, business key, or another padlock key? Come and see us in Piccadilly Arcade. Where the heck is that, I hear you ask? Piccadilly Arcade runs from 43 Devonport Road through to 44 Grey Street. You'll find us at the Grey Street end. We repair shoes. But it sounds wrong for us not to cut keys. We expect Shoe Repairer and Key Cutting to go together. We cut standard business and house keys. We also cut some car keys without modern anti-theft transponders in the key's head. If in doubt, bring it in and we will check it with our transponder-checking gadget.
Key Cutting Prices
Standard cylinder house, padlock and business keys we charge $10 per key. These blanks are generally LW4, LW5, MS1 etc.
Mortice keys $20. Cut onto LV, H, 5 gauge etc.
Standard car keys we charge $20 per key. These blanks are generally TOY43, MIT11R NSN14 etc.
We also stock Kevron Key Tags, key identifiers an a limited range of other accessories.
Happy car key customer
Thank you for persevering with our car key! The new one works perfectly and it is great to be able to use a remote key once more. We really appreciate the trouble you have taken and are grateful that you took up the challenge. To obtain a new key at a fraction of the cost quoted by the manufacturer’s agents is quite an achievement. Well done!
With all good wishes,
Sincerely,
John
Where to go for Transponder Keys in Tauranga
While we do not offer a transponder key replacement service ourselves. When I need a new car key with a transponder I call three places for a price before leaving home.
- The dealer eg Toyota, Ford etc
- Minuteman by Boys College
- Tony at Zanden Locksmiths
- Shane at The Locksmith Guy
Additional questions to ask
- How long is the key guaranteed?
- Will the key do all the things my original does, like open the boot.
- Will the remote etc be a separate thing to have on my key ring or built into the key head.
There have been other cheaper places that I've had people try but they have often had to go back 2-3 times to get it working properly.
